Advisor offers BDM solutions among new recruits

Zenith Investment Partners has welcomed a business development manager (BDM) focused on advisory solutions as part of a series of appointments, while two asset managers also confirm new hires.

Zenith has made two new appointments to its business development team, based in Sydney and taking up its role on December 2, reporting to its head of sales, Glenn Boyes.

Doug Hope has joined BDM’s newly created role focusing on national advisor solutions. He will support the growth of the firm’s advisory tools, including Zenith Mosaic, Chant West Switching Tools and FE Analytics.

Hope previously worked at Morningstar as Director of Advisory Software Solutions, where he was responsible for refining and executing business strategies for the advisor and licensee segments in Australia and New Zealand.

Additionally, Zenith welcomed Jim Wang as BDM to its institutional team. He will oversee all technology and data sales related to institutional clients nationally, with a focus on the asset manager, platform and technology client segments.

Prior to his appointment, Wang worked at Preqin where he focused on selling alternative asset data and analytics.

Commenting on the appointments, Boyes said: “Jim’s expertise in data analytics and client relationships will be instrumental in further developing Zenith’s institutional relationships.

“Doug brings a wealth of experience to this role, particularly in the area of ​​advisor research and analytics, with direct experience in managed accounts, investment sales, sales management, software cloud-based accounting and financial technology. »

Appointment of SG Hiscock

In a similar announcement, SG Hiscock confirmed the appointment of Jason Smit as BDM, effective December 16. He is based in Melbourne and will report to his head of distribution, Anthony Cochran.

Smit will work with current and prospective clients, strengthening and expanding the Company’s relationships across wholesale and retail investment channels, as well as product dealer and financial advisor networks in Victoria, Western Australia and Australia southern.

Prior to joining SG Hiscock, he was a regional director at Alexander Funds and worked at Dimensional Fund Advisors and Macquarie Group.

“Jason has a proven track record of successfully managing clients in the private wealth management, institutional and retail sectors, providing a high level of client service and has a deep understanding of the securities to be fixed income, equities and specialty investments,” Cochran said.

“His strong background in wealth management and business development makes him an ideal candidate for this role and we look forward to joining and helping to expand our business presence nationally.”

Meet Real Asset Management (RAM)

RAM is another fund manager to announce a recent appointment with the hiring of Adam Willis as head of institutional capital and investor relations.

He will manage RAM’s relationships with institutional investors, lead its investor relations function and play a key role in strengthening engagement with investors in the ASX-listed RAM Essential Services Property Fund. Willis joins us from DWS, where he was Director of Customer Coverage.
