Ares Management has announced a new offering aimed at providing Australian wholesale clients and investors with access to its private equity investment strategies, anchored in secondary investments.
It launched the Ares Private Markets Fund, an Australian domiciled trust company expanding access to Ares Private Markets Fund (APMF), its existing US-registered management investment vehicle.
Launched in 2022, APMF invests in a diversified portfolio of interests in private equity funds backed by leading private equity sponsors primarily in North America and Europe. It has approximately $3 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2024.
According to Ares, the expansion of the offering to the Australian market responds to growing investor demand for private market solutions.
“Over recent years, we have seen increasing demand from wealth investors in Australia and New Zealand for greater access to private markets as they continue to seek to diversify their portfolios,” said Teiki Benveniste , Managing Director and Head of Ares Wealth Management. Solutions, Australia and New Zealand.
“To this end, Ares is focused on providing a comprehensive suite of institutional-grade solutions to individuals around the world, and we are excited to introduce a differentiated private equity secondary product to this market that builds on our Additional credit solutions available today. .”
Ares previously launched the Ares Global Credit Income Fund and the Ares Diversified Credit Fund to the market, providing exposure to its core credit strategies.
The company said these products have attracted “significant interest” from wealth investors in Australia and New Zealand so far, raising more than $1.5 billion since their launch in the region in 2020.
Barry Miller, Managing Director of APMF, noted that Ares has been a leader in sourcing and managing secondary investments for over three decades.
“Since the launch of the APMF, we have seen continued enthusiasm from the wealth management channel, and we are excited to introduce access to the APMF in Australia as we look to deliver attractive returns risk-adjusted on behalf of our investors,” Miller said.
