NAB, Vodafone and Microsoft listed in alleged Cisco data breach
Threat actors have claimed responsibility for a cyberattack on US multinational technology company Cisco, claiming to have exfiltrated data belonging to a number of large organizations.
Cisco is a manufacturer of networking hardware and software, best known for the production of its routers.
In a post on a popular cybercrime forum, threat actor IntelBroker said it gained access to Cisco’s systems on October 6, stealing large amounts of data belonging to it and its customers.
The data would include “Github projects, Gitlab projects, SonarQube projects, source code, hardcoded credentials, certificates, customer SRCs, Cisco confidential documents, Jira tickets, API tokens, AWS private buckets, Cisco technology SRCs, Docker releases, Azure storage buckets. , private and public keys, SSL certificates, Cisco Premium products and more! »
IntelBroker has listed a handful of companies that have allegedly “had their production source codes confiscated”, including Vodafone Australia, National Australia Bank (NAB), Microsoft, Bank of America, AT&T, and more. Cyber Daily has not been able to verify these claims.
The threat actor also provided a comprehensive client list, which includes more companies from Australia and around the world, including Allianz (Accenture), Australian Red Cross Blood Service, Ascension Health, Reserve Bank of Australia, Australian Government Department of Defence, NSW Health. , NSW Rural Fire Service, Queensland Health, Rio Tinto, European Parliament, Fairfax Media, FBI, Google, Samsung, IBM, KPMG, US Department of Defense and hundreds more.
It is unclear whether the companies on this list were affected by the cyberattack or whether the list only concerns Cisco customers. However, the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, which was only listed as a client, was included in the sample data.
