NSW Government launches digital strategy roadmap
The new roadmap follows five key missions: accessibility, productivity, trust, resilience and digital skills.
The NSW Labor Government unveiled its digital roadmap last week, outlining five key mission objectives as part of the NSW Digital Strategy.
A government survey found that one in five people in the state believe they lack the most important skills to navigate the online environment and access digital services such as job searching and education. At the same time, people aged over 65 or from low-income households also have less trust in digital spaces.
To this end, the digital roadmap will focus on making digital services accessible while making digital service delivery more productive. The government also plans to build trust in digital services through stable and reliable platforms and build resilience to emergencies, both in person and online.
Finally, the fifth key mission is to improve digital skills in the public sector.
“The NSW Digital Strategy lays the foundations for a future of more secure, inclusive and accessible digital services, and is a commitment to improving people’s everyday lives,” said Jihad Dib, Minister for Customer Service and Digital Government. , in a press release dated October 3. statement.
“This strategy is about more than technology: it’s about people and how we build world-class digital services that strengthen our communities while supporting economic growth.
“Our key missions of accessibility, productivity, trust, resilience and skills will help ensure we respond decisively to people’s needs, such as improving access to government services.
“We are already bringing our strategy to life, through initiatives such as our new EasyRead hub and updated AI frameworks, ensuring digital infrastructure is at the forefront of government projects and improving coordination and investments in cybersecurity.
“From western Sydney to regional and remote areas of New South Wales, our vision is of a more connected state and a government that embraces new technologies and involves everyone on this journey.
“The NSW Digital Strategy will help us continue to innovate and create digital services that are both forward-thinking and responsive to the needs of the community we serve.”
