Rubrik and Microsoft partner to strengthen Azure cyber resilience
Rubrik’s new resiliency solution will bring cyber recovery capabilities to Microsoft Azure Blob storage.
Zero Trust cybersecurity company Rubrik announced a new partnership with Microsoft to provide Microsoft Azure Blob Storage customers with increased cyber resilience.
New services for Microsoft Azure Blob Storage include the ability to discover and classify data without it leaving the storage environment and monitor the security posture of that data.
Rubrik’s new services also provide continuous monitoring of sensitive data and the ability to detect and reduce redundant data and, therefore, cloud costs. Customers can also recover the latest, cleanest copy of data via a range of quick recovery options.
“Rubrik Zero Labs recently discovered that 70% of all data observed by Rubrik in a cloud environment is object storage, which potentially has much lower security coverage than on-premises and SaaS data,” said Anneka Gupta, Product Director at Rubrik. in a statement.
“What is even more shocking is that almost 90% of this data is estimated to be either text files or semi-structured files, representing data types that can vary in whether they are machine readable or covered by leading security technologies and services. It’s a double whammy – until now.
Aung Oo, general manager of Microsoft Azure Storage, said the growing adoption of generative AI “is producing an explosion of data that needs to be secure.”
